Obesity is....

What obesity is….

Many people who read my blog are those looking for help with their fight against obesity. I wanted to take a few minutes to tell you how obesity has affected my life. If you relate to any of these, I want you to know that there is hope. I found that hope and every day I move closer and closer to a healthier lifestyle.

This is what obesity is to some:

Embarrassment when I am at the doctors office and they ask me to step on the scale.

Choosing to stay home over social activities because of the way I look.

Taking pictures only from the neck up to hide my stomach. Also taking pictures from a higher angle to make it look like my face is thinner than it really is.

Eating an entire bag of chips at one sitting.

Only able to buy closes at a plus size specialty shop.

Being completely out of breath just by walking up a flight of stairs.

Not able to close the seat belt on an airplane and having to ask for a seat belt extension

The doctor telling you that if you keep up at your current weight, you will die from heart disease at a younger age.

Being made fun of at school – being called a cow or other weight related names

Having various family members embarrassed to be around you in public.

Having constant bone / joint problems from the excess weight

Not wanting to try on clothes in public

Crying at night because you feel so bad about yourself

Being unable to connect romantically or intimately and maybe not even getting asked out on a date in over 10 years.

Having no drive or motivation.

Thinking about your next meal before the current meal is over.

Sneaking food where no one sees how much you really eat

Thinking that I must finish my entire plate and not waste food.

Only taking quick shower vs. long baths because you don’t want to look at your own body
Tired of hearing people say how easy it is to lose weight - you just have to put your mind to it!

Feeling rejected

Feeling ugly

Feeling lazy

Feeling shame

Making excuses

Feeling hopeless………

What is obesity to you?
What ever it is - there is HOPE.  I found it.  I am thankful every day for Belviq.  It changed my life.  It's still a constant struggle, but I have gotten so much further with Belviq than I ever have with any other weight loss program or method that I have ever tried.  It is a lot of work, but it's so worth it!!!
